Music, craft beer, community and creativity came together recently at Young Henrys Brewery in Newtown, Sydney, as Roland DG joined forces with Roland Corporation for the inaugural Beats and Brews event.

Designed to celebrate music, connection and hands-on experiences, the event invited guests to jump behind a Roland V-Drums kit, test their drumming skills and immerse themselves in a unique atmosphere where technology and creativity met. But beyond the beats and brews, the event also served as a powerful demonstration of how personalised print and custom-branded experiences can elevate events and create lasting memories.
From customised merchandise and promotional products to event signage and live personalisation, Beats & Brews showcased the breadth of Roland DG technology and highlighted the many ways businesses, event organisers and promotional suppliers can use print to create more engaging and memorable experiences.
Creating Lasting Impressions with Direct-to-Object Printing
One of the standout technologies on display was the VersaObject MO-240 UV flatbed printer.

Positioned live at the event, the MO-240 became an attraction in its own right as attendees watched their personalised drumsticks being printed before their eyes, before taking them home as a unique keepsake.
In today's experience-driven world, personalisation has become a key ingredient in successful events. Guests increasingly value experiences they can share, remember and take home. Direct-to-object (DTO) printing makes this possible by enabling businesses to customise products quickly, efficiently and in real time.
The VersaObject MO Series has been specifically designed to make this process simple, versatile and lucrative.

At Beats and Brews, personalised drumsticks proved just how impactful live customisation can be. Guests not only enjoyed playing the drums, but also left with a customised product connected to their experience - creating a memorable interaction, while extending the event experience long after the final song.

The MO-240 also produced branded stainless steel beer coolers for the event, demonstrating another practical application for DTO printing. For breweries, festivals, sporting events, corporate functions and live entertainment venues, products such as drinkware, trophies, gifts and merchandise can all be personalised to strengthen brand recognition and create additional revenue opportunities.
Versatile Direct-to-Object Printing for Personalised Products
The VersaObject MO Series combines print quality with outstanding versatility.
Using UV-LED technology, the printers produce vibrant graphics directly onto objects up to 204 mm thick. Optional rotary attachments allow direct printing onto cylindrical items such as bottles, tumblers and drinkware, while White and Gloss inks enable premium finishes and special effects.
The MO Series can print directly onto a wide range of materials including plastics, wood, metal, glass, acrylic and leather, making it ideal for customised products, promotional items, gifts and event merchandise.
Easy setup, intuitive software and reliable operation make the MO Series a practical solution for businesses looking to expand into personalised products and direct-to-object printing.
Bringing Event Branding to Life
While the MO-240 generated plenty of excitement, Beats & Brews also showcased the power of Roland DG's broader print portfolio.

Event merchandise including Beats & Brews T-shirts and tote bags were produced using the TY-300i Direct-to-Film (DTF) printer.
Designed for apparel decoration, the TY-300i produces vibrant, durable transfers across a wide range of fabrics, simply and cost-effectively. Its efficient workflow makes it ideal for custom apparel, event merchandise and short-run promotional campaigns.

Meanwhile, floor graphics, kick drum wraps and sticker giveaways were produced on the new TrueVis VG4-640 printer/cutter.

Renowned for its exceptional colour reproduction, integrated print-and-cut workflow and productivity, the TrueVis VG4 enabled vibrant, high-impact branding throughout the venue, demonstrating how visually consistent branding can transform an event environment.
Together, these technologies created a seamless branded experience that reinforced the Beats & Brews identity at every touchpoint.
Inspiring New Possibilities
Beats and Brews was more than just a fun day out. It was a real-world demonstration of how print technology can enhance experiences, strengthen brands and create meaningful connections.
Whether through live personalisation, customised merchandise, branded promotional products or impactful signage, Roland DG technology empowers businesses to deliver memorable experiences that stand out.
As consumers continue to seek personalised and shareable experiences, technologies such as the VersaObject MO Series are opening exciting new opportunities for event organisers, promotional product suppliers, and signage businesses alike.
We're already looking forward to the next Beats and Brews event and the creative possibilities it will bring.
